Shaw's has repeatedly said that they will stop using genetically engineered ingredients once they hear from their customers. Below are 5 easy ways you can let Shaw's and Star Market know you do not want genetically engineered food.
1. Send a postcard to Shaw's new CEO Paul Gannon and tell him to stop the genetic experiment with your food.
2. The next time you go shopping, find the store manager and tell him/her that you do not want genetically engineered food. Tell him/her that you will stop purchasing Shaw's Brand products until they remove genetically engineered ingredients. Or tell them that you will stop shopping at Shaw's altogether.
3. Hand out leaflets and talk to customers at your local Shaw's store. Contact us for materials and how-to information.
4. Host a GE-Free Potluck for your friends and family. Invite people to bring dishes free of genetically engineered ingredients or throw a ge-free barbecue and label all your entrees ge-free. Contact us for a how-to guide.
5. Send us an email to Join the Safe Foods Campaign Volunteer Network with your name, address and phone number. We'll send you email updates about getting involved locally, recent headlines about genetically engineered food and action alerts that you can pass along to friends and family. (The updates come out three times a week.)
